It was 5:30 in the morning and Roy Daugherty was getting ready for the day. All
of a sudden, he was knocked to the floor. Lying there helpless, he realized
that he was paralyzed on one side of his body. Luckily, his wife and son were
there to call for help.
When Roy got to Wilson N. Jones Medical Center, the stroke team was waiting for
him. The physicians were able to administer the clot-busting drug
TPA
at 7:15 AM. Within minutes, Roy was back to normal. "They gave me that shot and
I came out of it... just like that!"
