This is a 19 bed unit caring for orthopedic and spinal patients. The professional nurse provides nursing care consistent with the philosophy and mission statement of Wilson N. Jones Regional Health System and within the standards of their license as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas and professional nursing organizations (i.e. ANA). The RN incorporates knowledge of nursing theory, cultural influences, and inter-person dynamics while providing nursing care designed to meet the age/developmental specific needs of health care clients. Provides services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using the knowledge/skills unique to the requirements of each age group to ensure optimal patient care.

2 West Neuro Spine/Intermediate Care. It is a 16-bed unit with 16-bed telemetry monitoring capability. It serves mostly stroke patients, but other neuro diseases as well (seizures, MS). It also takes the cardiac overflow from 2 South (cardiac cath, pacemakers, and cardiac drips).

RN Charge (apply online) Posting Date: 7/1/2009 Department: Telemetry Work Schedule: Varied Shift: 7p to 7a Qualifications: Telemetry Candidate must have a current and valid nursing license for the State of Texas. Previous med/surg experience is preferred. Telemetry experience required. This is a 23-bed telemetry/step-down open-heart unit. Besides telemetry and open hearts, the majority of our patients are cardiac cath and pacemakers. Unit has the capability of monitoring 40 patients on telemetry. ACLS certification is required within 90 days of hire date.
